What can I use WeSplit.it for?

WeSplit.it is an end to end solution that allows you to organise, share, manage and pay your social money. From household expenses to personal IOUs, WeSplit.it can be used for utility bills, grocery shopping, laundry charges, travel expenses, concert tickets and pretty much anything else you can think of!


How do I add a bill?

Once you've registered and created or joined a group, login to WeSplit.it to access your dashboard. You'll see a big green button on the right side that allows you to add a bill. A pop-up window will open up where you can name the bill, specify the amount, choose a due date, specify those who have paid already/are yet to pay and also choose the people who are part of the bill. By default all group members are part of a bill but you can change this as needed. By default all bills are split evenly between those who are a part of the bill but you can also specify individual amounts per person. Once you enter any relevant details just click the green button labelled 'Split this' and you're all done!


Can I pay my dues directly through WeSplit.it?

Yes. WeSplit.it has recently integrated PayPal to allow you to make payments directly to your group members. To clear your dues, click on the link in the Dues section of your Dashboard that reads "You owe ..". This will open the Breakdown page where you can see a detailed account of your dues. If the currency you are using is supported you will see a "Pay this person via Paypal" button. This will take you to Paypal where you can make a payment to your group member. If you have already cleared this payment by another method or your currency is not supported, you can click on "Let this person know you've paid them" to clear your dues.


Can I pay my share of the bill through WeSplit.it?

Yes. Our PayPal integration allows you to directly pay your group members. To make a payment for a particular bill, click on the bill name in the Current section of your Dashboard. This will open the Bill page where you can see detailed information regarding the bill. If the currency you are using is supported you will see a "Pay your share via Paypal" button. This will take you to Paypal where you can make a payment to your group member. If you have already cleared this payment by another method or your currency is not supported, you can click on "Unpaid" to mark your share paid.


I don't have a Paypal account, can I still use this feature to make payments?

Yes, you can also make a payment using your credit/debit card with this feature. Click the "Pay via Paypal" button and on the following page click the "Don't have a Paypal account" link.


Can I make a payment to someone who doesn't have a Paypal account?

Yes. Follow the instructions above to make your payment to your group member. Paypal will then send them an email with instructions on how to receive their money and create a Paypal account.


Can I still make a payment to someone who has a different email address on WeSplit.it and Paypal?

Yes. Paypal will take care of this and will email them instructions on how to receive their money.


Is WeSplit.it free to use?

Yes, WeSplit.it a free service. You can track, record and manage all your expenses with WeSplit.it for free.


Is there a charge to make payments via WeSplit.it?

Yes, when you make payments using Paypal to your group members there is a nominal flat transaction fee. This fee is £0.49 or equivalent if you are using a different currency. Please note that Paypal may also charge the person receiving the payment in accordance with Paypal's terms and policies. What currencies does WeSplit.it support?

WeSplit.it is a global service and supports all currenices worldwide. This means you can use WeSplit.it to track, record and manage your bills and expenses in any currency you require. However using PayPal to clear your dues on WeSplit.it is restricted to the following 24 currencies as supported by PayPal.

We are trying to support other currencies as well by partnering with PayPal alternatives in different countries and will keep you posted as we add to this list.


My currency is supported yet there's no "Pay via Paypal" button, what's wrong?

The amount you are trying to settle is below our allowed minimum. Amounts of at least £5.00 (or equivalent if you are using a different currency) are allowed the Paypal payment feature.


Can WeSplit.it help me collect money that is owed to me?

No. WeSplit.it is not a collection service and accepts no burden to retrieve money that may be owed to anyone. WeSplit.it only offers a service that allows you to track, record and manage your expenses online. WeSplit.it also offers a feature to pay money directly via PayPal. How do I add/remove a person from my group?

Adding or removing group members can only be done by the person who created the group. If you are the group moderator, login to access your dashboard. The right hand column displays a list of group members. To add a member, click on 'Add another group member' which appears at the bottom of the list and follow the instructions. To delete a group member, click on 'Edit' at the top of the list and then select the trash can icon next to the name of the person.


How do I leave a group?

To leave a group, login to access your dashboard and click the trash can icon that appears next to your name on the right hand column of the page.


How do I delete a group?

Groups may be deleted only by the group moderator. To delete a group, click on 'Edit' at the top of the list and then select the option to delete the entire group. Please note that once deleted, a group cannot be retrieved and all bill and expense information will be lost.


How can I change my email notifications?

You can opt out of receiving notifications, reminders and newsletters by visiting your Settings page on the dashboard. Just follow the Edit Settings link below your name.


How do I close my account?
